Troy and Alex instantly quick at Laguna Seca

The two Camel Honda team riders Troy Bayliss  and Alex Barros confirmed their
positive start to the first day of practice in Laguna Seca with the second and
fourth fastest combined times respectively. Nonetheless Bayliss had a minor
slide off the track halfway through the second free practice session, but
continued to ride at an extraordinary pace. The Australian was always amongst
the first two positions but in the double morning session and also in the
afternoon, demonstrating his capabilities on the difficult and challenging
Californian track. Alex Barros, seventh in the morning, made constant progress
and eventually improved his lap time by half a second and took fourth place at
the end of the first day.
